In 2021, there will be an estimated 1.9 million new cancer cases diagnosed and 608,570 cancer deaths in the United States alone. Breast Cancer Awareness month and the No-Shave November movement are dedicated to raising awareness and funding for cancer prevention, research, and education. In honor of these individuals and to do our part in raising awareness we are highlighting The Pink Fund.

The Pink Fund is a non-profit breast cancer organization that provides 90-day financial support for non-medical cost-of-living expenses to breast cancer patients in active treatment, allowing them to focus on healing, raising their families, and returning to the workplace. To learn more about The Pink Fund and its efforts, visit their website.

Statistics are from the American Cancer Society.

The Power Company Kids Club is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to promoting the emotional, physical, spiritual and social well-being of at risk children and adolescents in our inner cities through mentoring, weekly programs, and partnerships with parents, churches, schools, civic leaders, and community organizations.

The children we serve are victims of entrenched generational poverty and exposed to crime, violence, substance abuse, and hunger. The Power Company Kids Club serves the children in the home, on the streets, in the schools, and at our Children’s Center. We provide leadership development, long term mentoring home visits, summer programs, feeding programs, and public school assemblies. Every child receives free transportation to our programs on our fleet of buses.
